Filming at the pool
Starting the music video with my group, we first ride together to his house to start planning. We agreed that I would be the camera man while he was in most of the shots. Also, I was brainstorming ideas for camera angles to make each scene look better. The first scene we did was the pool scene; this scene was of the main actor sailing to china. We had a few problems with the scene because the paddle board was deflated and we could not use it so we used an inflatable tube. I wanted the actor to get something appropriate for going in the water, but he insisted on going in his normal clothing. So, he went into the freezing cold pool in normal clothing and wasted more time cleaning up. While filming the scene I used a medium wide angle shot, I was laughing at him in the tube struggling to steer the tube and while laughing I was shaking the camera. This caused us to have to redo the scene a few times because I could not keep a straight face. We ended up getting the scene done and moved on to the next scene we could do. The next scene was the bedroom scene of the main actor waking up. I got a high angle medium close up of the foot of the bed. Using an Amazon echo to turn on the lights right before he gets up making the scene look clean. For the music video we wore the same clothing through the day. After filming these two scene we drove to a park to film. When we got there we realized that for the rest of the scene we needed a second actress because it would look strange for our the main actor was alone. When we realized this we had time to think about what to do next. I thought about what to add in the upcoming scenes. With angles, shots, and lighting all pictured in my mine. That filming day was very productive with the scenes done, and future plans drawn up.
