Our group will be doing a Nike commercial. Typically these commercials follow multiple people ranging from average joes to famous athletes partaking in some physical activity.

  • The costumes they wear are Nike branded apparel whether it be shorts, windbreakers, tennis shoes, sports bras, or headbands.

  • Many of the props used were sporting equipment, specifically basketballs, footballs, soccer balls, towels, water bottles, or gloves.

  • Almost always the actors are fit and drenched in sweat or more accurately spritzed with water right before the shot was taken.

  • It's almost mandatory for a Nike commercial to have a slogan at either the start or beginning with their most iconic one being “Just Do It”

  • The theme throughout these commercials are fast pace action with exhilarating music to make the audience excited and motivate them to get out there and “Just Do It”

  • Nike commercials connect to the masses by showing world-class athletes or famous figures using the product that the average person can get their hands on.

  • Many of the newer Nike commercials have quick cuts from shot to shot where the commercial doesn't stay on one person for more than a couple of seconds.

  • Their commercials use a big diversity in angles but all have one thing in common, they use whatever angle captures the iconic Nike swoosh the best. Whether it be a low shot to show off their actor in the newest Nike gear to make them seem like they are above the rest of the competition or an eye-level angle to make sure you see the face and recognize one of their many famous athletes who have shoe deals with them.

  • The Nike commercials are quite diverse in terms of what the background is but the message is always the same “Just Do It” they capture this with the angles and shots they use, for example, they use eye-level shots to express the determination in the person's eyes while also getting a good look at the logo on their chest or in the background.
