CCR Questions

 1. The product is the Nike brand in its entirety, from the shoes, jackets, and shorts. This product challenges convention by showing that quality clothing items don't have to be worn by the rich and the famous and they can be worn by the average person. Their product I shown to be great looking and that anyone and everyone uses it. It works with it by showing that its good enough that the rich and famous do use it, like star athletes and people in the Olympics. It represents social groups by for example if someone is wearing Nike wears people would assume that they are an athlete, and Nike has become a staple for athlete wear. The products aren't expensive for many people, which eliminates the the problem of affordability. 2. This product engages with the audience by relating to what many people want to do, be an athlete. Our commercial shows the audience that Nike is used by the normal students and that they have a passion to run, they may not be the best at but it shows that

Summarizing the project

This Commercial was an entire new experience for me, from the terms we learned to the techniques used when filming. I did do a music video back in middle school, but it wasn't to the quality of what my group accomplished in our commercial. One of the most important things was my ability to improvise as we filmed and edited. I enjoyed all the aspects of this process, the storyboard, planning, and using my groups creativity to create something new. Learning all these new terms was a challenge, but as we used them more I got the hang of them. Some things I still need to work on are my ability to edit the clips we took, I am trying to learn from a friend. Working with what we had was hard with what we got, from members not showing up and missing some props. I loved the filming part with some clips being messed up in a funny way, and I just had a great time all together. The members of my group were hard working and also taught me some filming skill that helped complete the project. In

Finishing the editing process

The ending of the commercial is coming to a conclusion. I saw the final product and it looked prefect from the music, sound, and shots. Some challenges during the final touches of the commercial were the music and sound. The music was still a big problem, from the song not fitting what was needed. Many of the songs suggested by the group were out of place or did not have the beat. The songs tested we some royalty free techno, hip hop, and pop. Since I did not have an editing software I wasn't directly involved with editing. So, when they showed me a version with some music it looked great, but I suggested a song and it turned out to be better. The soundtrack I chose was called run that race from Cars 3. Doing research for that song took some time. I had to look through songs I had and songs suggested by friends and googling running songs. Another thing needed to be added to the commercial was sounds. Some of the sounds were a school bell ringing to signal the running clips. To add

Beginning to edit

Today my group and I work on our first day of editing. I looked over the amount of clips we had and what clips to cut or crop. I worked on my phone and computer to try and find a song. I also helped edit some of the clips in the commercial. I tried to take in everyone's opinion on what they think it should look like. So far the commercial looks good. The clips on the phone had to be placed in our editing software. I looked at the rough draft created and it started to look good. After refining the clips it all started to look great and exactly the way we wanted. A problem I came across was finding a good song to fit the video. I tried to use the song Born to run and Till I collapse, but those were shot down. I did find a song that we kind of agreed on called Race that Run.  Finding a song was more difficult than expected, due to the fact that I didn't think a head of time. So far the commercial had all of its clips in order and we had the ending logo. The work was much slower be

Filming in pairs

On our second day of filming we encountered a problem before we even started filming, our camera man Bliss was sick and couldn't come to school so I had to become the camera man. I had to learn some of the position I had to be to take shots and keep a steady hand. I had to do tracking shots and still shots. Also, I still had to be the director helping the main actor with his shots. We only needed to do a few shots due to the fact that we almost finished up on the first day. But missing a group member was challenging due to the fact that I couldn't hold up props or manage crowed control as well so we had some other groups help us with that. In addition I was pretty new to the whole camera man so I messed up a few shots. Thankfully Bliss called us from home to explain to me what to do and how to do it. She told me ways on how to steady my hands and to take deep breaths. To add on she gave us some ideas of some of the shots. Bliss also looked at some of the footage we sent her so
