Genre Research Battle Los Angeles

This movie is about the Modern-day world under and alien invasion and the U.S is under attack on their west coast and it's up to the military to stop it. This film showed incredible scenes and heartbreaking moments.

This movie composed mostly of the side of the Americans and rarely show the alien side with point of view and over the shoulder shots to get the boots on the ground perspective. Also, high angles were used to show the superiority of the aliens when fight the troops, along with long shots to show the scene in front and the characters. Low angles were used to show the Americans at a disadvantage and truck shots to shift from one spot to another as if you're searching for something. The costumes used are what the U.S military would wear at the time and most of the time the lighting was dark which represented no hope but when a solution was presented the lighting brightened up. The makeup was as if they were in a battle for hours and props were accurate to the time. Along with the setting being in Los Angeles.

Some of the sound used to the creator's advantage were the ambient sounds with the beginning have background scattered gunfire, but as the fight grew longer the background grew quieter. The soundtrack added more suspense and intensity to the fighting. The editing tricks used include cutaways to show the perspective of soldiers spit up from the group, jump cuts of the action scene which correlates to an action match, and cross cutting to show the different perspective at the same time.

Battle Los Angeles was a great movie filled with action I loved the perspective shots that really only show the side of the soldiers, which made the movie more suspenseful. Also, the low angles and the cutaways added a power struggle between the two enemies and to reveal the action and story at different times, I would add this to my film. On the other hand, the action match made the film to cliche, and the cross cutting felt wasted to where I wouldn't use it.
