Planning Blog 

Props: In our music video we will use props to show meanings of the song to the viewer.. The meaning of the song is a romantic relationship so we will use flowers, messages, and hearts to represent that. We will also use boats and cars to display meaning that certain lyrics in the song have to get that point across. 


Costume:  In our commercial, our costumes will resemble ones that were used in other pop music videos. This will include trendy new fashion along with some old retro design to link back with our song. Accessories such as watches, rings, necklaces will all be used during our commercial to link back to the historical parts of the song. 


Schedule: 

11/11/2021: Our group conducted our research on music videos to give us ideas on 

11/15/2021: Our group establishes the props, costumes, schedule, location, and backup plan.

11/19/2021: Our group will create a storyboard that is 1 min and 15 seconds long.

11/23/2021 Our group begins filming the music video

12/4/2021: Our group finishes the filming process

12/5/2021: Our group begins editing our music video 

12/7/2021: Our group finishes editing our music video 


Location: Our main location will be a backyard of one of our group members houses as it will be a location where we can control the most amount of variables. We will also use locations such as boat ramps to show off boats linked to the lyrics in the song. We will also use parks to show people interacting with each other. We will also show our actors moving together in these scenes and then running away to represent the love story in the song.


Backup Plan: The backup plan that we thought of is to use the inside of one of our group members' houses for our location instead of their backyard incase of inclement weather. In case one of our locations is unavailable such as the boat ramp, we could go to another location in our town to have a boat behind us. If weather causes an issue with not being able to go to the park we could use a warehouse in town or we could use the indoor basketball court at the park for our shooting location.

  Research Our group will be doing a Nike commercial. Typically these commercials follow multiple people ranging from average joes to famous athletes partaking in some physical activity. The costumes they wear are Nike branded apparel whether it be shorts, windbreakers, tennis shoes, sports bras, or headbands. Many of the props used were sporting equipment, specifically basketballs, footballs, soccer balls, towels, water bottles, or gloves.  Almost always the actors are fit and drenched in sweat or more accurately spritzed with water right before the shot was taken. Final decision-Action

 I chose the action genre for my opening scene film. Action movies have always peaked my interests with the plot the scene and how they are crafted just make it so perfect. This option is the easiest this action movies have more of my style. Action movie more, so war movies have always grabbed my attention because I love to study history and wars. The atmosphere of the movies just checks all the boxes for me and now that I can create and opening scene to one, I'm all hands on. I already have a great idea of what my opening on my action movie will be. Some of the ones that inspired me were "Hacksaw Ridge" and "Midway" which I loved and learned about. I know how war movies are portrayed, as gritty harsh warzones with empty atmospheres. This experience will help me make a better opening that is more enjoyable to make.  Action was my chose over the other two because I could get much more creative than I could if I was doing horror or drama.
